I'm amazed at how my Savior can take any and every circumstance around me to show me more about him. My prayer has always been that this journey of life I'm on would continually bring honor and glory to him, so by using every opportunity; my mistakes, my successes, and my day-to-day adventures, he teaches me how to use it for his glory. This life he blessed me with is ALL about him! So, these are my thoughts, my heart cries, and my lessons from his glorious Word. These are the teachable moments from my Savior!

Psalm 25:4-5 "Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long."

~ My God Knows ~

Praising God for His Word this morning! Sitting here on my porch cozied up in a blanket with God’s Holy Word and a hot cup of coffee soaking in the presence of my Jesus! Oh, how I need Him every second of every day! His Word this morning….Yes!

So much comfort in this verse:

"You’ve kept track of my every toss and turn through the sleepless nights, Each tear entered in your ledger, each ache written in your book."

After a challenging month, I am thankful to God for his Word. So many times I can just open it and the words leap off the pages straight to my weary soul. A salve to heal the cracks of my heart. My God knows!

 My God knows the burdens on my heart and the burdens of so many others I hold dear. It is only He that can truly bring comfort. This morning I am thankful for that comfort and His beautiful compassion. When troubles come, He is there! When burdens digs deep, He is there! Troubles will come and troubles will go but my God will be there every step of the way. 

 That's why this morning I can REJOICE! Even in times of burden, I rejoice in my God! He is faithful! He is true! He is GOD! O, how I love him so! 


"Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning."

I don't know who else needed to read these words from Scripture today, but I sure did! For those of you struggling today, this is for you too! No matter what you are going through, my God knows your hurts and loves you with an everlasting love. Cling to him today and let his Word soothe your weary soul. Be confident that He is in control and is working all things for our good. Remember, His mercies are new every morning!

Pondering Questions This Morning...

Questions on my heart this morning:

When others look at our lives what do they see?

Do they see a life committed to Christ?

Do they see a life transformed by the Gospel?

Today, I pray that my life is a pleasing aroma before my Lord. I pray that I live in a way that honors my God and shines His light for all the world. I pray that when others see me, it's really CHRIST in me that they see. I pray that I walk in a manner worthy of the calling God has placed on my life. I pray that I keep from sinful desires and put on the armor to fight the enemy. I want my mind renewed to think like Christ and to love like Christ. I want to know Him more and seek Him wholeheartedly. I want to remember that this world is not my home and that I'm on a mission to serve Christ and share His love with others. I pray that I run the race with perseverance; a race that glorifies my God and points others to Him!

So many things on my heart this morning!

Today is ALL about YOU, precious Father! I love you and I pray that I honor YOU this day! Have your way in me!

Praise for a new week!

Happy Monday!

What a glorious morning waking up to these cool fall temps! Of course I had to break the icicles off our noses because I refuse to cut the heat on yet but what fun! Lol!

As we begin a new work/school week let's commit to give praise to the ONE who is worthy of all honor and glory! Without Him we are nothing and walking through this crazy thing called life with Him is so full of adventure with grace & mercy abounding that only He could give. Today, I praise HIM and today I lift you all up in prayer!

He is my HOPE! He is my JOY! He is my PEACE!

Nothing is Impossible for God!

Good Tuesday morning!

It's the new work/school week after enjoying a day off yesterday. So now we begin!

What are you facing today that seems impossible?

I had this discussion with my mom yesterday. She reminded me that God can do anything! When we look at a situation and cannot, through our human eyes, see how it will work out, the Holy Spirit nudges our hearts back to scripture where God, time and time again, does the humanly impossible. He is God and nothing is impossible for Him!

What is your impossible today?

We need to take it to battle in prayer. Fight on our knees. God is in control and we have to listen and obey His ways. When our eyes are on Him and His will, we will begin to see what once was humanly impossible has been divinely made possible!
Today, go to battle on your knees and trust the One who is in control!

Praising in All Things!

It's a wonderful morning out on the porch! It's foggy but a little cool and the sound of the water dripping off the house from last night's downpour is so soothing. I look across the field where the soybeans are growing and there's that slight haze lying ever-so-gently on top of the crops. Birds are chirping and the small tree beside my rocking chair makes me happy as the leaves dance in the gentle breeze. Oh, it's so peaceful and in this rat-race of a world we live in, peaceful mornings are treasured and good for the soul.

I'm always the early riser. I've tried sleeping late but it just won't happen. 6:30 is about as late as it can get for me even this summer when I had the opportunity to sleep late. My plan was to stay in bed and just continue watching my sweet husband sleep. After quite a bit of travel over the last month, his presence is treasured and my heart beats a little faster just looking at his precious face. So, this morning I was just enjoying Matt's presence and thanking God for this amazing man beside me. But, Louie, our faithful dog, decided he wanted to be an early riser this morning and needed to go out. So, off we went!

I made my way here to the porch. You know how it goes....Bible, coffee and dog lying at my feet. As I sit here, I talk with my Father over the things on my heart. Sure there are burdens and I lay them at His feet but there are also many many blessings to give Him praise for. I thank Him for being my portion. In times of waiting, as we are in a few things, I praise Him for filling me up and continue asking Him for contentment in situations and seasons that we are in. I don't want to be discontent. Even in the difficult areas of life, there is so much to learn and grow from. God doesn't waste our times of trial or waiting. When we turn our trust and faith to Him and Him only, those times strengthen us and prepare us for the next season of life. Even in the midst of these times, I will praise Him louder and stronger! I thank him for answered prayers! He hears and He answers in His time and for our good! It's a blessed day!

I will continue to sit and rock in my chair for a while! I will turn on some music and sing praises to God. (I will just wait until a better hour of the morning so I don't bother the neighbors with my praise. Lol!) But then I'll enter my home again and pull out the griddle and cook a big breakfast for my people. My people! Thank you, Lord!! What a blessing to serve them and love on them!

I pray you have a blessed Saturday and enjoy a long 3-day weekend. Whatever you do, wherever you go; praise the One who is worthy!

And They're Off...Again!

What a glorious morning on the front porch with Jesus! The temperature is perfect and with each sip of my coffee I utter praise to my amazing God for His sovereignty and grace!

On my heart this morning....mamas! This is the time of year when the summer dies down and we moms are getting so teary and sentimental as we prepare to send our babies out into the world for another year of school. Preschool, kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school and in my new world....college. Some mamas are even experiencing the newness of their "babies" heading out of school and into "real life". The world is scary. The world is dark. Anxieties can be high because our babies are growing way too fast.

So what are we to do?

We pray! We trust! We prepare them! We have faith in God!

I look at those precious faces of my three blessings and praise God for the honor and privilege of being their mother. I celebrate each phase of their lives because as God entrusted those blessings to Matt and me years ago, He did so with the understanding that we would train and guide them to eventually leave our nest and begin nests of their own. So every year is preparation for that. Yes, even in preschool!

It does go by fast! As Ben prepares for his first day of college I know that our time with him in our nest is getting shorter and shorter. Callie is beginning her high school years and Caleb is on the brink of middle school. The years go quickly but I don't want to live in tears of what is going by. I want to live in celebration of all our time gone by, the present time and of all that God has for them in their futures!
So, we savor every moment and we tuck each blessed memory into our souls. We grab hold of opportunities to instill God's Word in every portion of their lives because when they know the truth, they will be better equipped to face the lies. We teach them about this dark world and train them how to arm themselves with God's Word to maneuver through and be shining lights in the darkness. We teach them the power of prayer and how it is the lifeline to develop their personal and intimate relationships with their Savior. We teach them life skills so they can, one day, be able to manage their own families. We teach them to love and be kind. We teach them about respect for authority and for others. We model servanthood so they can also serve. We encourage them to learn from their mistakes and how to handle disappointments. We teach them that there are consequences for every choice they make, both good and bad. We teach them about grace and mercy as we learn every day from our Heavenly Father. We show them the faithfulness of God in our every day lives. We teach them that though life is not always fair, God is always good. We teach them that though bad things do happen to good people, God is still sovereign and He is still on His throne.

O, there is so much to teach, to train, to love. What an honor it is! So, on those days when I want to freeze time because it goes so quickly, God reminds me that it will all be okay. Amazing days are still ahead. Yes, they may be hard. (Teenage years are no joke.) But every day of looking into the eyes of my children and seeing God at work in their lives gives me great joy and hope. God reminds me of the incredible blessing I have of being a part of the wonderful human beings they are and are becoming. I celebrate each phase of their lives. Though some phases are more difficult than others, I celebrate the journey because it makes them part of who they will become. I trust their Maker because they belong to HIM first and foremost and then I fall on my knees in awe of the blessing of motherhood.

Thank you, Lord, for those three incredible blessings. Thank you for the high honor of being mom to Ben, Callie and Caleb. Help me to grasp hold of the moments and not live in the past. Help me to guide them through this life through your Word and celebrate their passage in every season. Each day prepares them for the next and wonderful days are ahead. Even through the storms, you bring beauty from them. Even through the dark days, light is on the horizon. Motherhood is tough but it is the greatest job in the world. So, help me as we begin a new school year. Help me be their encourager, their cheerleader, their counselor, their guide, their prayer warrior, but most of all...help me to be the mom that you would have me be. Protect them as they go out and prepare them for the journey. They are YOURS, precious Lord. I trust them to YOU and have faith in the days ahead. Amen and amen!

For you, sweet mama reading this, YOU have been prayed for today! Hold on to each special memory and celebrate each day ahead. You are doing a GREAT job and God will see you through. Hold fast to His Word and cling to Him through prayer!

Unsettle us today, Lord!

Today, let’s pray that God would unsettle us. Let’s pray that we never get too comfortable where we are that we miss the assignments that God is calling us to. Let’s pray big, bold prayers of obedience to God and then lay all our mess at His feet. Let’s surrender it all to Him and walk fully in His will. Let’s allow Him to turn our mess into a message and our hurts to songs of praise. Let’s step outside our little boxes of comfort and onto His fields of purpose and grace. Let’s be people of great faith as we trust our God and shout HIS goodness to a world in need!
