I'm amazed at how my Savior can take any and every circumstance around me to show me more about him. My prayer has always been that this journey of life I'm on would continually bring honor and glory to him, so by using every opportunity; my mistakes, my successes, and my day-to-day adventures, he teaches me how to use it for his glory. This life he blessed me with is ALL about him! So, these are my thoughts, my heart cries, and my lessons from his glorious Word. These are the teachable moments from my Savior!

Psalm 25:4-5 "Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long."

~ Precious Moments, Perfect Peace ~

I absolutely love sitting on my back porch out here in the country just listening to the birds chirping and soaking in every little bit of God’s Word! Just being out here in his beautiful creation makes his Word come alive even more. It always amazes me how I can read a verse that I have known for years, but every time I get something new from it! What proof right there that God’s Word is alive and active!

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

I’ve spent a lot of time with my sweet baby girl this week just going over life lessons! What precious time that the Lord has allowed a teachable moment out of a situation she is going through. I love watching her grow in her love of our God! Many times this week we have been able to just sit and talk about scripture and how it applies to each situation she has encountered. Even at 10 years of age, I see something so special in her. I see a love for God blooming and maturing and it blesses my heart. I see how God is speaking to her and how she is responding to his call! She has been a shining example in my own life.

One of the scriptures that we have focused on this week is,

Phil. 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

This has been a verse that has really been a prayer of mine and in our home at many different times and just this week became a prayer of Callie’s once again. As Callie was going through this situation, she was quick to remind me of this verse and we sat and read and prayed it aloud. I love how it reminds us that, “the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” It doesn’t say that when our answer comes we will have this peace. It says, to present our requests to God and the peace of God, which exceeds all our understanding, will guard our hearts and minds! Love it! We can come to God with our requests, our prayers, and our petitions and his peace will rise above all that we understand! Can I get an AMEN from someone? Wow!

Our understanding can get a little clouded when it comes to challenging situations, but when we give it to God, his peace covers us! When you truly experience God’s peace, there is no other experience like it!

God used this teachable moment with Callie into a teachable moment with me as well! A time to praise him for this soul-satisfying peace that only he can give. I am so thankful for these precious moments with Callie! I love to see her grow in her walk with God, but I am also thankful that she knows where to go first, right to God’s Word!

No matter what your circumstances are, and trust me, there are many challenging situations that are right in front of me as well, God’s Word is the source of guidance and comfort we need. Pick up your Bible and read from his love letter to you. So much awaits you there and to pour your heart and soul into it will only reap a harvest of blessings and peace! I praise him that through the challenges, I have peace and, yes; it is the peace of God, which transcends all understanding and guards my heart and my mind in him and him alone!

I pray that your week if filled with God’s peace and that his blessings abound!

His Servant~

Allison
