I'm amazed at how my Savior can take any and every circumstance around me to show me more about him. My prayer has always been that this journey of life I'm on would continually bring honor and glory to him, so by using every opportunity; my mistakes, my successes, and my day-to-day adventures, he teaches me how to use it for his glory. This life he blessed me with is ALL about him! So, these are my thoughts, my heart cries, and my lessons from his glorious Word. These are the teachable moments from my Savior!

Psalm 25:4-5 "Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long."

A Legacy...

A legacy....

Will it be one of passion, love and service for Christ or will it be one of compromise, comfort, and half-heartedness??

O, I pray that I leave a legacy that leads others to Christ! I desire to follow Him and serve Him only, even if that road is uncomfortable and challenging. My life is not for my comfort but for HIS glory! HE loves me & paid the ultimate sacrifice for me and now my life is ALL for HIM!

My life, my passion, my love is Jesus!

Created in His Image!

In honor of "International Women's Day"....

“Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.”
Proverbs 31:30 (NKJV)

Ladies, before you lay your head down on that pillow remember:

YOU are strong, YOU are beautiful, YOU are loved and YOU were created in the image of Almighty God! Embrace the beauty of womanhood and praise God for this high honor as you live for HIM! Hallelujah!

Facing Your Giants

What are you facing today?

David recognized that he could not fight Goliath in his own strength. He was much smaller and weaker than that giant. But what David knew was that his God was bigger and mightier than any giant with a hundred swords and spears. His trust was in God completely! He went forth into battle in God's strength and the enemy was conquered....in the name of the Lord!

Today, don't fear your "Goliath". Go at it in the name of the Lord! Trust HIM completely! Your God is bigger and He will equip you for the battle! Let's watch the giants fall today and give God the praise!

“David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.”

1 Samuel 17:45 (NIV)

Happy Leap Year!

Leap year! Every four years there is an extra day added to the end of an already short month and we call it "Leap Year".

An extra day!

I was sitting contemplating this extra day and why all of this happens, so I decided to Google it. Because that's how you find all sorts of information nowadays. Lol!

So here is what I found on the Internet:

~~~~
"Normally our calendar years are made up of 365 days, but every four years we add a day to make what is known as a ‘leap year’.
Here's why:
The Gregorian calendar, the most widely used across the globe, measures a year to be 365 days following the Earth's orbit around the Sun.
However, the Earth's orbit takes 365.24 days to complete its solar orbit and an extra day every four years is added to keep calendar seasons synchronized with solar seasons.
If we didn’t do this the seasons would shift around the calendar, and in 750 years’ time June would find itself in the middle of winter."
~~~~

Wow! Makes pretty good sense to me. There is enough complaining around my town in the winter months as it is. If the month of June was cold here, that would probably send some people right over the edge. Lol!

So from what I gather, this "leap" is necessary to continue making the calendar run on target and keep all months in their proper seasons.....

Hmmmmmm......

Keep in their proper seasons....

A few months ago, God called Matt and me to make a huge leap of faith into some unknown journeys. Unknown to us that is. God was and is fully aware of every step, every leap we take and directs them all. Together, hand in hand, we took that leap trusting God, knowing His ways are not our ways and His plans are not our plans. But with full confidence of His divine plan! In order for us to stay in line with His purpose, He called us out in this huge leap of faith because He knew our season was changing. New seasons were on the horizon!

Well, today that new season begins. Isn't it just like God to add some humor and bring some laughter to our journey as our HUGE leap of faith begins on "Leap Year"?

We are ready! We are excited for this new season of life and we trust in our great and glorious God! He truly makes all things new and we give HIM praise! All glory and honor are HIS!

What about YOU? Has God called you to trust Him fully and take a leap of faith? It's time to lay down your fears and your anxieties and fully trust the One who created you; the One who loves you like no other and wants the absolute BEST for your life! Take the leap with HIM!

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:"
"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11 (NIV)

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”
Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)

“He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.”

Daniel 2:21 (NIV)

A New Thing!

Sitting here this morning in my quiet house with a hot cup of coffee reading through many beautiful cards, letters, texts, emails and messages given to me as I closed a very dear chapter of my life yesterday. What an amazing time it has been and as I read those words of encouragement, my heart is full for all the precious memories and for the ones who penned the words as they shared from their hearts. Thank you to every dear soul who has taken the time to pour in to me over these last several weeks. You will never know on this side of eternity what that means to me.

I woke up today, refreshed and excited for the new adventures ahead! God is faithful dear friends! Don't ever doubt His love and faithfulness to YOU! All He asks is that we trust Him. We may not understand or know what lies around the corner but He does and has our best interest at heart. Though it may come through joy & gladness or through hurt & disappointment, God is working to make all things new. He grows us and guides us along the path for our good and His glory!

So, I begin my Saturday singing His praises of goodness & faithfulness, then heading to a conference at church with my love, an afternoon later with friends and then family time at home. I hope you're day is blessed and beautiful!

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

Isaiah 43:19 (NIV)

HIStory...a continuation!

For those that are avid readers, when you find a book that you absolutely love, coming to the end of it can be sad. You read and engross yourself in the story only to get to the end and you want it to continue. Great are the books in a series where you know the next novel will be out soon and you can continue the story you've grown to love.

That is where I am today....

Today begins a week of closing chapters in my life. Chapters that have been opened for many years with such depth and beauty but the time has come to close them and it's hard. What a beautiful part of my story! It has been a time of much growth in Christ, sweet memories and, of course, wonderful relationships that I am thankful will continue on to the sequel.

But even as those chapters in my life will close, I stand amazed as the dawn of a new novel is beginning...the sequel to an ongoing story. Yes, there is the heartache of endings but there is also the excitement of new beginnings. All my lessons learned and life experiences will ultimately be part of a larger story.....the story that God is writing on my life. It is a continuation and I trust the Author and all that He has in store as He pens every page.

HIStory is MY story!

I'm so eternally grateful that my Heavenly Father is the Author of my life! He can pen the pages so beautifully and orchestrate every word and detail so much better than I could ever attempt. At times, I'm not sure what genre of novel it is. Lol! Some days it feels like a mystery, some days it feels like a thriller, and some days it feels as though it could be a book of comedy. But in reality, it is a love story! It is the story of a loving Father ushering his daughter through this life on a journey as she seeks His will, making mistakes along the way, but ultimately growing in the love of her Father as she strives to be obedient to Him. The story is mine and He is still penning the pages of my life. It will never be on the New York Times Best Seller list but it is #1 on God's list and that is what matters!

So through the drama, the mystery, the romance, the hilarity, the "realness"...I go forward today a blank page ready to be filled with ink from the pen of my Father as he continues my story.....HIStory! I will walk boldly and courageously sharing His message, as He has called me to, and I will sing His praises as He continues to unfold this beautiful love story.

To God be the glory!

“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
Philippians 1:6 (NLT)

“Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.”

Psalm 25:4-5 (NIV)

YOU are worthy!

Before you lay your head down tonight remember, YOU are worthy...YOU are capable...and YOU are loved! Don't let the enemy fill your head with lies. Rest in the truths of God's Word tonight!
