I'm amazed at how my Savior can take any and every circumstance around me to show me more about him. My prayer has always been that this journey of life I'm on would continually bring honor and glory to him, so by using every opportunity; my mistakes, my successes, and my day-to-day adventures, he teaches me how to use it for his glory. This life he blessed me with is ALL about him! So, these are my thoughts, my heart cries, and my lessons from his glorious Word. These are the teachable moments from my Savior!

Psalm 25:4-5 "Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long."

" I Will Be With You "

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze."
Isaiah 43:2 (NIV)

What do you face this morning? Do you wake up in praise ready to begin the day or do you wake up heavy-hearted because of the trials in your life?

Dear friend, you do not have to face these struggles alone! Sometimes we can have the tendency to hold our burdens to ourselves and figure them out on our own. But that is setting ourselves up to drown in the raging sea that we are in. God has promised that He would go with us and protect us along the way. This passage of scripture is one of many promises to see us through. Hold onto him and rely on his strength to see you through.

There are so many right now who are in a raging sea. Maybe that is you. Maybe the circumstances you face seem almost hopeless. Dear friends, please know that I have prayed for YOU! Let me assure you that God is hope; God is light and in HIM is NO darkness at all.

"This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all."
1 John 1:5

Run into the arm of Jesus today! Our precious Savior has promised to go with us through each and every trial we face!  This very Savior died on a cruel cross for you and for me. He gave his life because of his love for us and he continues to walk with us through every day life. Invite him on your journey. Draw from his strength to sustain you.

I love this passage of scripture from the Message Bible. I want to share it with you so you can really personalize this in your life today. Remember how much God loves you and will protect you in your time of distress. Please know that I have lifted you up to the Father and you have been covered in prayer!

I will close with this today,

"But now, God’s Message, the God who made you in the first place, Jacob, the One who got you started, Israel: “Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you. I’ve called your name. You’re mine. When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down. When you’re between a rock and a hard place, it won’t be a dead end—Because I am God, your personal God, The Holy of Israel, your Savior. I paid a huge price for you: all of Egypt, with rich Cush and Seba thrown in! That’s how much you mean to me! That’s how much I love you! I’d sell off the whole world to get you back, trade the creation just for you."

Isaiah 43:1-4 (MSG)

Your Hand Be With Me!

Mornings on my front porch really are my favorite thing about summer! God’s Word, cup of coffee and the sounds of nature…thank you, Lord!
The last couple of summers have been extremely busy and I missed this so many days. This summer I am really trying to be still and enjoy the presence of my Jesus more and more. Oh, how I love HIM!

This morning I am thanking God for new opportunities in front of me and praying for HIS will in all I do! What an exciting month ahead!

“Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!” And God granted what he asked.”
1 Chronicles 4:10 (ESV)

Precious Father, bless my steps as I walk in YOU! May YOU be glorified and YOUR will be done! Amen!

Hall of Faith

Reading and praying this morning! Hebrews 11....The Hall of Faith!
What is faith?

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV)

So many men and women of great faith in God have gone before us. Their testimonies forever etched in the pages of scripture.

By faith Abel...
By faith Enoch...
By faith Noah...
By faith Abraham...
By faith Sarah...
By faith Isaac...
By faith Jacob...
By faith Joseph...
By faith Moses...

Lord, help me be a woman of great faith and trust in YOU!

My prayer is that God would find me faithful in the days ahead as I walk in Him.

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

Extra! Extra!...Read All About It!

I sat in my quiet little spot at the bookstore/coffee house one day just so excited that I had about two hours of uninterrupted time in the Word. It was one of those days when I had several things to keep me in town but there was a nice long break in between appointments where I had a couple of hours of “free” time. Yes, “free” time! What is that you ask?

Well, I had to look up the definition as well because “free” time doesn’t come by my way very often. Haha! Anyway, two hours to do what I wanted to do!

Even though the store was quite busy, I nestled myself at a quiet table, opened my Bible, and bowed my head to thank my sweet Lord for that precious time.  As I lifted my head and glanced around the room, my heart was drawn to the people sitting all around me. After all, it was a bookstore so everyone had chosen their reading material as they sat and sipped their iced beverages. Most people were catching up on the gossip magazines. You know the magazines that are laced with who is cheating on who? Who has the best celebrity beach body? what fashion do you need to wear to be “hip”?...you know the reading material that really feeds your mind. Lol!

But a short moment later, my focus was drawn to a little lady in the corner with a stack of books on her table. She had a book in her hand and she was reading so intently that she was even making strong facial expressions and hand gestures with her free hand. She would laugh, she would speak aloud when she agreed with what she had just read, and she, at one time, even began to cry.  Wow! What in the world was she reading? It must have been powerful to get that kind of reaction out of her in a public place. Well, I couldn’t tell because it was in Spanish so that remains a mystery to me but she was so engrossed in that book and passionate about its message.

That spoke volumes to me!  Reading evokes so many emotions in us. Have you ever read a book that you just couldn’t put down…a book that you kept talking about for days? I have! The written word can be such a powerful thing. But today, my heart was stirred about that amazing Book I had in my very hands!

I quickly bowed my head again and asked God to prepare my heart as I opened His Word. No other book can ever be as powerful or life altering as God’s Holy Word.  After all, no other book was written under the direct inspiration of God’s mighty hand and I was about to dig my heart and soul in!  I prayed that God would give me the passion and excitement as I read the beautiful promises He wrote for me. I prayed that my heart would be stirred in such a way that I would leave that bookstore with a renewed passion to tell others about Him.

Oh, the precious Word of God! Life altering, divinely inspired, full of grace and truth!

Read the Word today!  Pick up those beautiful pages of scripture and read what God has for YOU!

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” II Timothy 3:16-17

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1

“Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105

“Open my eyes that I may see
wonderful things in your law.” Psalm 119:18
