This picture was taken last summer during a
sunrise prayer and praise time with these two sweet girls. I’m not much of a
beach person but I love the beautiful sunrises and sunsets and of course the
majesty of God’s amazing creation. It was the perfect morning to head out
before the sun woke up and take these two precious girls who are running after
Jesus to the ocean to share a time of prayer and devotion as God breathed life
into another blessed day for us.
The beach was quite occupied for that early
morning hour, but it was still quiet and unrushed. We set our towels down, snapped
a few pictures of the sun beginning to peak over the ocean and then spent some
time in worship and praise of our God in all His splendor and majesty. As we
sat down on our beach towels to open God’s Word we noticed a young man standing
in front of the water with arms outstretched in praise. How beautiful to see
another soul praising our God!
A little bit later this same young man came over
and, in all humility, shared with us how it moved him to see us out there
praising God and felt led to come and encourage us in Christ and pray with us.
He was in town for business training and desired to come to the ocean and
worship God at sunrise but almost gave up on the idea because it was so early.
He had called his girlfriend on the phone to share the experience and said he
was blessed to see other believers there in worship as well. So together, we
bowed in prayer, hand in hand, to lift high the name of Jesus and encourage one
another to continue living life in Christ and stand in unity as we seek HIM. I
asked his name, Timothy, and thanked him for his prayers and encouraged him as
well as he left to stay strong in Christ.
What a blessed morning! In a world that seems to
be moving further and further away from Christ and each other, God encouraged
our hearts with another brother in the Lord. Let's do the same!
Today is a new day to give God praise! Yes, I know
it is Monday and that can be a harder-than-normal day to handle. But if you are
reading this, than you are alive and God has a purpose and plan for your life
THIS day. Wherever you are, whatever your schedule holds today…give God praise
and worship Him in all you do. You never know who is watching your life and who
will need encouragement in Christ. Today, let’s commit to sharing with the
world the greatest news of all…Jesus, and let’s encourage our brothers and
sisters in the Lord!
